Cagayan de Oro to Davao City Road Is Now Constructed

This is the most awaited road to be construct this year. The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is start constructed the road project of Kapalong-Talaingod-Bukidnon worth of P1.6 billion which expected to cut a travel time of two and half hours (2 1/2), YES you read it right 2 1/2 hour from Cagayan de Oro to Davao City and vice versa, much lesser than the time spent traveling through Davao-Calinan-Bukidnon Road.

It was divided into 8 packages including the 6 bridges to be construct and the opening of the remaining 10-kilometer stretch to the boundary of Bukidnon at Valencia City with a total of total length of 57.79 kilometers from Kapalong-Talaingod-Bukidnon road project. The national government worked 24/7 to hit their target time line by early next year. The 3 regions to be across with this road project are Regions X, XI and XIII and is considered an important section of the Philippine-Japan Friendship Highway traversing Butuan City to Davao City and that of the Sayre Highway along Valencia City in Bukidnon going to Cagayan de Oro City.

The Black Nazarene Fest

Their are lots of big events on the month of January that people preparing to attend these big events of celebrations, just like the fest of Santo Nino which some people will attend and join the celebration at Cebu for the Sinulog Festival which is held every 15^th and 16th of January and also the fest of the Black Nazarene which is also held every 2^nd Sunday of the month of January. It’s already 3 years since the Black Nazarene fest was started here in the City of Golden Friendship Cagayan de Oro with procession of the Black Nazarene.

It is my second time to attend and cover this fest which is year by year devoted of the Black Nazarene was increased by thousands and by this year celebration the devoted of Black Nazarene was about a millions. This year celebration is different from the last 2 years celebration, they have new route for the procession of the Black Nazarene. It was started around 3 o’clock in the afternoon, this year they started at Kulambog Lapasan going to agora then pier, going back to C.M Recto and then pass it to the Corales street and Baranggay Mabulay and then pass to the Baranggay Osmena extension.

They have the total of 5-6 kilometers for these routes compared to the last years which is only 3 kilometers and it was end around 7 o’clock in the evening then it was followed by a mass. Here are some photos of the Black Nazarene procession with millions of people.

Starbucks Coffee Cagayan de Oro is Now Open

Yes guys Starbucks Cagayan de Oro is now open this day October 30, 2010 to the public and we know that this coffee shop is one of the famous coffee shop in the world. The coffee shop was start constructed last July 2010 and after 3 months they are now open to serve us. For give me if I’m wrong but I think this is the first Starbucks in Mindanao which is only located in Cagayan de Oro. The rumor is now become true.

Specifically Starbucks Coffee located at the former Parking A of Limketkai Center, south of McDonalds, and east of Missy Bon Bon. Finally Cagay-anons now have our own Starbucks in the City. Here are some pictures. This is your CDO Guide given you information about our City.

The Obrero Place (Manolo Fortich Bukidnon)

How did you spend your weekend? Have you enjoyed your weekend? Well if you ask me these questions my answer to this is a BIG YES. I and my partner myjournal together with our friend Ian Eblamo and his family visit “The Obrero Place” which is located at Manolo Fortich Bukidnon. The plan is to have lunch at Club House del Monte which is located at San Miguel, Manolo Fortich Bukidnon and to swim at The Obrero Place and Mangima, since we arrived early at Manolo we decided to visit first The Obrero Place which is own by Dr. Faustino Obrero. This place was opened 2-3 years ago but not well known to the public. When you look the place out side it looks like Hacienda which is very impressive out side. The entrance is not like the usual rate, the entrance of The Obrero Place is 100 Pesos for adults and 50 pesos for children but your entrance fee is worth it when you inside in this place. They have forest type of area and a garden type which is good to people who love flowers and nature lover.

The place has 2 flowing pools with deferent levels, 1 for children and 1 for adult. You will enjoy the pool because it’s just like you are in the middle of the jungle which surround by many trees. I really appreciate the ambiance of this area, I can recommend this place to those people who love silence and peaceful in mind.

After getting tired of swimming to there nice and clean pool all of us are now feel hungry so we ordered at there canteen and wwwooowww the price just the same to other resorts that we visit before at Bukidnon and some other Spring Resort. Most of the food that we ordered is good for four (4) persons so that we minimized our expenses during our lunch. We enjoyed the food that they serve on us and we could say during our lunch is that all appreciating the food that they have. I can recommend this place and the food that they have. Thanks to Eblamo Family for the free lunch.

The Obrero Place has boat area where in you can ride their boat (don’t know if it is free or you will pay if you will use this. Sorry for thatJ). They have room for also to those people or group who would like to stay in this place (they not get any room rate because the in-charge is out).

So our plan to have lunch at Club House was postponed but we visit there also and took our snacks and enjoy watching the golf course area. Here our some pictures that are taken in The Obrero Place.

Pools and Spring Resort Hopping at Bukidnon (7 Destinations in 1 Day Adventures)

What are you doing during the long weekend last week? Did you spend it wisely or did you enjoy over the weekend? This is the best experience I have this year where in we explore the pools and spring resort at Bukidnon. It is a last minute decision by the group where the plan is only visit and enjoys the new pool in Maramag Bukidnon the RR Family Spring Resort. Individually we pitch by Ian together with his wife Ting-Ting and around 6 am we leaved Cagayan de Oro. Since we arrived at RR Family Spring Resort earlier that expected we decided to have a pool hopping at Bukidnon. But before we arrived in RR Resort we visit the most famous tourist spots in Malaybalay, the transfiguration the unique church that I’ve been seen. If you are a reader of this blog you read my post regarding the Falls Hopping at Iligan City and now I will share you the Pools and Spring Resort Hopping at Bukidnon. So this is what your CDO Guide did during the long weekend.

So this is the Pool and spring resort hopping start:

RR family Spring Resort

Our first stop is the RR Family Spring Resort. This place was located at Tubigon, Maramag Bukidnon and it has an entrance of 30 Pesos both adult and children but 2 years old below were free. This resort was open from 7 am to 5 pm and the night swimming will start around 5 pm until 10 pm. They have 4 pools with different levels and the rate of their cottage from 250-600 and it is big already. They have also rooms for those people who would like to stay overnight.

Waig Crystal Resort

The second stop is the Waig Spring Resort; I like this place even though I visited this place for how many times already. This resort located at Purok 8-A, Spring Site, North Poblacion, Maramag, Bukidnon 8714 or you may contact them at (088) 356-1111, 0921-208-6304 and 0915-553-5384.

Luan-Luan Spring

The 3^rd stop is the Luan-Luan Spring which is located at Quezon campo Uno (1). The entrance of this spring is only 10 pesos with 3 difference level of pools.

Lucky 9 Swimming Pool

The 4^th stop is the Lucky 9 Swimming pool. They have 3 pools with different level with the entrance of 20 pesos each.

Edlimar Farm Spring Resort

The 5^th stop is the Edlimar Farm and Spring Resort is located at Brgy. Tubigon, Maramag, Bukidnon and a walking distance to MGM Resort.

MGM Mountain Resort

The final and last stop of our Pool and Spring Resort hopping is the MGM Mountain Resort which we visit this resort also for how many times.

NAPOCOR Canyon Pulangi

We stop over also at NAPOCOR Canyon, Pulangi to take pictures and watch the beautiful nature that we have. Bukidnon was blessed by big mountains and springs that people will stop and will enjoy this gift of god to them.
